A little about me….

I am a 38 year old mom of 3 terrific kids and I’ve been married to a wonderful man for 17 years.
I was born in Cleburne, Texas,  I grew up in Burleson, Texas, and now I live in Fort Worth, Texas.
When I am not running my photography business I am spending time with my family and friends.
I’m a bit of a dork and  a techno-gadget junkee.
I have a somewhat dry personality and sense of humor.
I am quiet and somewhat shy around people I dont know, until I get to know them.
I am a bit of a computer geek and know how to build computers. I have built many, but its not something I enjoy.
I have 3 dogs, Sunshine is a 90 pound Yellow Lab, Chloe is a 3 pound teacup apple head Chihuahua, and Tess is a 30 pound brown and white Beagle.
I like to go fishing, swimming, running, and skiing.
I like to cook and I LOVE Green Smoothies!!
I dont like to ‘work out’ but I do enjoy running and going for walks.
I dont like watching sports, unless my kids or someone I know are playing in the sport.
I can’t carry a tune to save my life but I love to sing along to the radio while driving my car.
I’m passionate about things that are important to me.
I am laid back and easy going.
I like to wear comfy shoes, even if they are ugly.

2005familyI inherited my love and appreciation for photography from my dad and my entrepreneurship, artistic creativity, and great interest in weddings from my mom.  When I was a kid, my dad would always have his point and shoot camera in hand.  He would sneak up on us while we were playing and take candid portraits of us being kids.  When I was 12 years old, I got my first camera of my very own for Christmas.  It was a point and shoot Kodak Disc camera (which I still own).  The first picture I took was a picture of my dad taking a picture of me on Christmas morning.

Even though it was taken with one of the worst camera’s ever made, I loved the camera, and I love that picture.  I think of that day every time I see it.  My dad passed away 13 years ago at the young age of 47, so that picture is very important to me.  Its a memory I can keep forever.

My mom owned a multitude of small businesses from childcare (which I too have done previously), to house cleaning, and then her passion - cake decorating.  Her cake decorating business blossomed into a wedding cake decorating business, which later she also incorporated wedding planning and catering into the business.  I grew up in a house that always smelled like wedding cakes.  Week nights and weekends I’d help my mother make wedding bouquets, boutonnieres,  hand made and moulded creme mints, and other accessories for the weddings she was catering.  My dad, my siblings, and I would then help my mom cater weddings on the weekends.  We’d help carry in all of the equipment, wash the dishes, you name it, we did it.  It was alot of work, but it was fun.

Thru the years, life happened and photography was put on the back burner.  I began working in IT building computers and programming corporate workflow applications.  My creative juices were not used near as much as my analytics.  When I was able to afford to purchase my first DSLR camera, my passion for photography reignited, as did my desire to wake up my creative side.  I began studying, practicing, and really honing my photography skills and talents.  I’ve taken college level photography courses as well as professional seminars, courses, and books taught by master photographers like Sandy Puc’, David Ziser, JB Sallee, Scott Smith, and the Boudoir Divas.
